Checking out the Michigan teams in MyHockeyRankings’ first polls of 2023-24

Little Caesars and Victory Honda 16U were ranked No. 1 and No. 3, respectively, in the first MYHockeyRankings of the 2023-24 campaign. (Photo by Michael Caples)

In the youth hockey community, MYHockeyRankings has become the definitive source for comparing teams across the country in all age groups and skill levels.

As teams input their scores, MYHockeyRankings computes rankings mathematically, using the information gathered to compare and contrast and come up with impressively accurate national and state-wide analysis as the season progresses.

The first rankings of the 2023-24 season came out this past week, and to be fair to MYHockeyRankings and all of the youth hockey teams in the state, it’s a little spotty for the first go-round. As the calendar just flips into October, some teams have played a lot of games, while others are just getting going. As more games take place, and more scores get loaded into MYHockeyRankings, the rankings will sort themselves out, but for now, it’s really just a fun look at where we’re at very early on in the hockey season.

For our Michigan-centric audience, we have went through each of the age groups that MYHockeyRankings profiles, and we’ve pulled the top three Tier 1 teams and where they stand nationally, and then the top three Tier 2 teams – no ranking number on the latter as they are interspersed with Tier 1 teams in state-wide rankings.

Records are from Sept. 27, as well.
